Who doesn't like sketches? Sassy Scrappers next crop will be Valentine's weekend - February 13 - 16. There will be some "love" thrown in, but it isn't a Valentine themed crop. All the challenges will be based on sketches, with a twist thrown in. There will be lots of challenges and prizes!
I recently found a stack of older photos and I had duplicates of all of them. Most were from 2000. Hard to believe that I just called photos from 2000 "older photos". Anyway, I guess they are because this little girl is now 11, and has braces. But back in 2000 she was celebrating her third birthday. I used the November, 2008 kit from Sassy Scrappers, donated by The Mosy Scrapper.
And here are a couple more layouts using the January ScrapMuse kit.
Eryn, my granddaughter in a backyard photo shoot from a couple of summers ago. Had to use these photos since her top matches the patterned paper so well. And I just love that black lace. It was one of my most favorite things about the kit!
Oh, here she is as a ballerina. I don't know if she'll ever take ballet lessons again, but she sure looked beautiful at her recital. And I think she enjoyed ballet, except for one night when she had a melt-down, rich with lots of drama, because she didn't want to go to her lessons. Doesn't she know a ballerina would never act like that? What was she thinking?
This month has been so busy, since I've started back to work. Balancing that with physical therapy, still being tired, and not sleeping well has been a challenge. But, I did get some layouts completed. Here are a couple using the January ScrapMuse kit. Last time I checked there were still some available in the store. It's so beautiful, and I loved using black and white, with a little color added in!
This is my sweet, sweet niece, Abby. And the accent color is..............red! If you know me at all, you know that I don't like red. Don't wear it, don't have it in my house, and don't scrap with it much. But I'm getting a little better. I love this photo of her. I'm not sure why she's holding a rose in her teeth, but I'm sure she had a good reason!
And do you believe it.....another layout using red as the accent. A layout about a tradition that we didn't get to experience this Christmas. So I brought it back by scrapping about it.
I'm once again this year trying to take a photo-a-day. I have already missed some days, but I've also given myself permission to do that. Here's one I took on New Year's Day. I never knew taking apart an old hard drive could be so interesting! I'm so happy Eryn likes to learn, and has a grandpa who loves to teach her.
I had some time to scrap over the weekend and chose to use this photo. We have so few photos of the two of us. This one is a couple of years old. We took it in our back yard and it's one of my favorites!
This is the only layout that I completed over the weekend at the Sassy Scrappers Crop, for Deanna's "Use Your Stash Challenge". I wanted to participate in more challenges, because there were so many great layout and card challenges. But the crop fell on a weekend when I was busy with other things.
And what scraps did I use? - I used something from each of the ScrapMuse kits during 2008. It was so much fun pulling things from the kits and combining them!
I went back to work last week for a few short days. I had been really nervous about it in the days leading up it. But it was nice to be back. I had really missed everyone. When I hobbled in the back door, everyone was there waiting for me.
And look what else I found - my office-mate Susan made this happy banner. I don't want to take it down yet. I think it's appropriate to leave it up for a month, don't you?
And Michele, who sits right around the corner from me, had these beautiful flowers. It was snowing and icy that day, and they truly brought a little sunshine to the office!

Now here's the really cool thing about it - you can add your own splashes of color to it. Oh, just wait until you see what the design team has done with this one. We have added red, pink, yellow, purple, and blue to create some very elegant and very fun layouts.
